What a glorious start to the day - things are looking good for my sister's visit. She was scheduled to arrive this afternoon around 3.00pm and I was going to pick her up and take her to see Mum and then come back and we would have a meal and a catch up. My sister does not eat dairy. We dont seem to know anyone these days that does not have an intolerance or an allergy but this no longer phases me - I just have to get creative in the kitchen!!!
I had my regular session at the Physios first thing. I asked Marios to check out my other shoulder - he said he could see the problem and poked a lump on my back and once again I hit the roof - he has an uncanny knack of being able to do that - he said he thought it was all muscular and would work on it - hopefully he will get it sorted for me.
On my return home I set about cooking our evening meal which was then going to sit in the slow cooer. I had decided on a bean cassoulet with the addition of some spicy sausage, pepperoni, chorizo and pastourmas with some peppers and sweet potato chucked in for texture and flavour. It was smelling good when I left it and I had put John in charge of making sure it was hot on our arrival and the house was clean, tidy and warm.I was happily fiddling around in the kitchen when I decided to check the actual arrival time of the flight only to find it was scheduled to come in 40 minutes early - bloody hell I had to get my skates on so shot off for the airport only to find a few minutes into my drive that I had successfully used up my monthly allowance of mobile data and that meant I was in danger of missing Kaye's call to let me know she had her bags and was heading for the ticket machine.
As I approached the roundabout at the end of the motorway I could clearly see her flight coming in to land (Jet2 planes are quite easy to identify) and I was still quite a way away so I decided to head straight to the carpark rather than park up and await her call which was a wise move although I think even the baggage handlers were unaware of quite how early the flight was because she had to wait a little time for her bag. In the end it only cost me a euro to park and it meant there was no confusion as to who was where and we got on the road pretty quickly and headed to Mums for a brief visit. Kaye and I are taking her shopping tomorrow and I have a bit of a surprise up my sleeve.
We got back to Droushia and John was ready and waiting and had everything under control. A nice glass of wine and an even nicer bowl of the cassoulet set us up nicely.
